What?

The annual Hendrik de Waard Lecture returns! We have invited dr. Rebecca Smethurst, who you may know from the YouTube channel Sixty Symbols. She will tell us about a conflict between theory and observation in the field of astrophysics. According to theory, supermassive black holes at the centre of galaxies limit the growth of the galaxies by either heating or somehow removing cold hydrogen gas. However, this process has never been actually observed. Would you like to know the fine details of this conundrum? Then visit the HdW lecture!
