What?

On the 6th of May, Physica is inviting Roberto Lo Conte to talk about how to craft quantum materials and the importance of atomic-scale investigations.

In order to make new materials that have the desired quantum properties (such as magnetism, superconductivity, spin-orbit coupling etc.) we need to investigate them at the atomic scale. In this lecture, Roberto will discuss the two main research lines in his group, which focus on the design and investigation of novel quantum materials. At the end of this lecture you will have a better idea of how surface scientists contribute to the making of the materials of the future.
