The FMF board and the GBE-FMF foundation are looking for new committee members! Do you want to organize: next year's study trip to somewhere outside of Europe; a symposium; an awesome weekend or something else? Click for more information.

GBE 2017: Every two years the Grote Buitenlandse Excursie-commissie (GBE) organises a three-week study trip to a scientifically interesting and culturally exciting destination on another continent. The Foundation GBE-FMF is now looking for five enthusiastic students who will be responsible for the organisation of this amazing excursion in 2017. Are you interested in organising a study trip and not afraid to take on a challenge? Please write a letter of motivation including your resume and send it to reisbureau@fmf.nl. The deadline is Sunday 31 January 2016, 23:59. If you want to know more, please don't hesitate to contact us as well or check out our website.


Besides the Foundation GBE-FMF, the FMF board is also looking for committee members.

Pienter Axioma Borrelcie
Lecie PAD (nas-dag)

Pienter: Do you want to play an important role in the bonding between the new freshmen? Are you interested in organising a large-scale event? Then organising the Pienterkamp is something for you! The Pienterkamp is the introduction camp for (Applied) Physics, (Applied) Mathematics and Astronomy, organised by FMF and T.F.V. 'Professor Francken', that takes place in the last weekend of the summer break. Together with your fellow committee members you take care of a full programme, a nice group of guides and a fancy accommodation. Besides being great for your resume, this committee is a really fun and educational experience. Interested? Send a (short) motivation and your resume to mail@pienterkamp.nl before February 12.

Axioma: This year it's already the third time the FMF organises Axioma, a mathematics symposium aimed at students who wish to take a look at what is going on in the academic world of mathematics, and at staff of the local mathematics department. Are you interested in present day mathematics research? Then apply for the Axioma committee!

Lecie: The Lecie is a committee that organizes the annual members weekend for the FMF members. If you like fun, the general atmosphere in the FMF room, the people, weekends in general, then organizing a fun members' weekend might be something for you! Make it legendary, gezellig, it's up to you!

PAD (formerly known as nas-dag/NAScie): Ever wondered what to do after your study? There is no better way to find out than to contact alumni and ask what they did after their study, what was their motivation, how did they end up there. Questions that no-one will get more insight into than the committee. The Physics Alumni Day is an afternoon with four speakers that will speak about their current job and company and a bit about their study.

Borrelcie:And finally, if you still have a bit of spare time, you like going to "borrels"(social drinks) want to become an active member at the FMF join the borrelcie!
